About Fighting.net

Fighting.net publishes plain-English guides for people who are choosing or starting a martial art, and for fans who want a rule explained. We compare styles side by side (taekwondo or karate, judo or BJJ, Muay Thai or kickboxing), explain what classes really cost, and answer the rules questions people search for.

Who runs Fighting.net

Fighting.net is an independent website. It is not connected to any gym, federation, promotion or gear brand. It is also not connected to Progressive Fighting Systems, the martial-arts organisation that used this web address in the past.

How we write our guides

  • Sources first. We build each guide from primary sources: governing bodies’ rulebooks, athletic commissions, peer-reviewed research and gyms’ own published price lists. We link those sources in the article, so you can check them.
  • No invented experience. We don’t claim to have trained, coached or tested something when we haven’t, and we don’t make up quotes, surveys or statistics. When the honest answer is “it depends on your school”, we say so and explain what it depends on.
  • AI tools, used carefully. We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. Facts are checked against the sources we link before an article is published.
  • Dated reviews. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. Rules, broadcast deals and prices change, so we update articles when they do.
  • Not a substitute for a coach or a doctor. Our guides help you ask better questions. For training plans, injuries or health questions, talk to a qualified coach or a medical professional.

What changed in October 2026

In October 2026 we cut the site back to fewer, better pages. We removed several hundred older, automatically produced articles that did not meet the standard above, merged articles that answered the same question, and rewrote our most-read guides with sources.

How Fighting.net is funded

Fighting.net does not currently run ads or affiliate links. If that changes, paid links will be labelled clearly next to the link.
