Is the UFC landscape about to change with a new champion at the top?
Jon Jones has not shied away from adding fuel to the fire of Colby Covington’s recent controversies. As we know, Colby Covington is one of the most polarizing figures in mixed martial arts, constantly seeking to stir up chaos and provoke his opponents. His relentless pursuit of notoriety often yields success, though lately, his fights have been marred by underwhelming performances.
After losing his last title fight to Leon Edwards, many questioned what lay ahead for Covington. His latest bout against Joaquin Buckley at a welterweight showdown was an epic clash that promised much but delivered little in the way of spectacle for fans hoping for a dramatic finish. But one man, among many, whose pleasure was undoubtedly immense after this defeat: Jon Jones.
Jones took to social media with his signature blend of sarcasm and bravado, highlighting Covington’s recent struggles. “Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’ – we all appreciate the sacrifice [clown emoji]. At least he got to see me win,” he wrote on Twitter.
His playful jab continued: “That’s what I find the most hilarious, listening to what he’s gonna come up with next after getting his ass whooped.”
“I know I shouldn’t acknowledge Colby but it’s just so much fun. It’s amusing watching someone you know hate you fail repeatedly,” Jones concluded.
