“Adam Roberts and Terry Britten are the Head Instructors at Oregon’s premier PFS school. McKenzie Martial Arts & Family Fitness Center is dedicated to bringing the most up to date and current self defense program to all members of a family. MMA is a unique martial arts school that appeals to all skill levels no matter how young or old. Our curriculum is based around the training methods of Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto. This knowledge was personally handed to us through the Progressive Fighting Systems, on into the current training format of the Descendants of the Masters. McKenzie Martial Arts has stayed on the cutting edge of training, since the mid 90’s, and has been dedicated to the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for sport, but most importantly, for the street.

Adam Roberts has been coaching athletes for nearly 15 years in a variety of sports. He was introduced to Gracie Jiu Jitsu and JKD in the early 90’s but martial arts was more of a hobby. After finishing his college basketball career Adam started formally training at, world famous Muay Thai school, Fairtex in San Francisco. In 2000 Adam started his instructorship program with Sifu Tom Cruse. While having a passion for training youth, he developed a unique training curriculum to bring JKD and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu safely to children/teens. Adam is a Certified Level 2 Instructor under the Gracie Family (Rorion, Rener and Ryron Gracie). He currently teaches JKD/Kali and Gracie Jiu Jitsu at the University of Oregon while owning and operating McKenzie Martial Arts in Eugene.

Terry began his martial arts career at a young age but did not find his true calling until 1994 when he was introduced to JKD. He then met Sifu Tom Cruse and his true martial arts training began. Terry spent years training one on one with Tom and the results speak for themselves. While earning a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under Gracie Humaita, Terry spent hours dissecting the fight game with Sifu Cruse and developed a teaching style all his own. Terry teaches the Escape to Gain Safety women’s self defense course and Jeet Kune Do/Kali at Oregon’s number one Jeet Kune Do school, McKenzie Martial Arts. Terry has been involved with PFS for 20 years and was awarded his Senior Instructorship by Sifu Cruse.”
